The Sky-runner was introduced in 1998 as remains a mainstay of free flight helmets offering a balance between protection and visibility. The shell is built using the same technology as in military applications, including high-modulus fiberglass and high-density polystyrol to guarantee the highest possible standards of safety.
Helmet Safety: Hang Gliding, paragliding, and other extreme sports are dangerous. Helmets provide a degree of protection, but nothing is 100 percent when engaged in sports. The European Union (EU) has sport specific helmet certification standards. Each sport has its own characteristics; therefore, the design of the corresponding helmet is specifically tailored to their relevant EU safety requirements. This includes EN 966 for free flight sports such as hang gliding and paragliding; and EN 1077 for snow sports. All Icaro2000 helmets are tested and certified by CSI, an independent testing company recognized and authorized by the EU. All Icaro2000 helmets are designed and manufactured in Italy.
Note: Visors are optional with this helmet. Visors are made of polycarbonate with anti-scratch, anti-fog treatment, and offer UV protection.
